ABOUT KELLY

Kelly Shroads has been creating art and photographing people, places, and events for over 15 years. Based in Denver, her work has been shown in diverse locales such as Chile, Mexico, Spain, New York, California & Colorado. After getting her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography in 1998, Kelly began her career in portrait, lifestyle & event photography, which taught her that truly great photographs can have a profound impact on people's perception & experience of life, the world around them, and the people they care about most. After many years in this business, Kelly has a renewed focus on her personal artwork, travel and lifestyle photography, which are inspired by the ethereal qualities and dualities of nature, the vibrancy and freedom of travel, and the practice of cultivating a nourished spirit. Her work within the Yoga and Wellness communities has brought her on a path of blending elements of creativity and well-being in all she does.

Features

Kelly's artwork is found more in homes than magazines, though she has been featured in publications such as Mooncruise (Volume 1, Issue 13), Frenzy, Lost at E Minor, Westword and the Photographic Museum of Humanity. She has shown at various galleries including Andenken Gallery, Pirate, Edge, Carson Masuoka, Open Space Gallery, The Art Gallery at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, among others.

Current Projects

Through Our Eyes | A book of collective stories and portraits.

In collaboration with with poet and writer April Glaser. featuring real life stories and portraits from a diverse group of 100 people in a variety of Colorado communities as well as visitors and travelers. The project celebrates the diversity we experiences as human beings on this planet, and the threads that make us all the same.

Photo Affirmations

Blending her landscape images with positive affirmations, in beautiful cards and photo products for the yoga studio, home and office.

Collaboration with jewelry designer Kate Wilkonson of Arcatus Jewelry

Blending large mineral specimens, with jewelry, photography, and sculpture, which will result in a show in late 2016.
